A volunteer non-profit association of friendly people of good character who have an interest in ancient Irish history and the associated historical streams related to the cultures and the movement of peoples in ancient times.
HISTORY
The society was founded in 1988 by Brisbane people interested in archeology and the ancient history of Ireland and the lessons such knowledge could provide.
MEMBERSHIP
Society membership is open to any person having an interest in ancient Irish history and its associated streams.
GOVERNMENT OF THE SOCIETY
A President and Secretary are elected bi-annually; also any other executive offices established by the Society as necessary from time to time.
SOCIETY MEETINGS
The Society meets weekly and monthly, often in conjunction with kindred organisations, at venues subject to notice by the President, or delegated officer.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
The presentation of papers and ideas via word and mouth; field excursions to explore historical and archeological sites; publication and distribution of expert papers, books, ancient histories and periodicals; joint participation with kindred organisations to advance friendly goals and library resources.
MEMORIAL LECTURES
Memorial and endowed lectures are sponsored periodically to publish new and expert research. Among those recently published are: "Who were the Scythians?", "Ogham The Ancient Script", "Did an Irishman Discover Australia?", "A Critical Analysis of the Mormon Contribution to Ancient American Discovery", "Irish Migrations", "The Royal Stone of Ireland", "A Brief for Archeology and the Society", "The Celts, Kelts and Kindred Peoples", and other expert works.
LIBRARY
The Society maintains a library through its members and affiliated associations, and has ready access to the learned texts, archives of kindred organisations throughout the world.
WORKING GOALS OF THE SOCIETY
To develop a philosophy of history concerning ancient Ireland and Britannia; confirm the spread of Oghamic and Celtic culture to Australasian shores in ancient times; promote the widespread travels of ancient peoples; sponsor an expedition to achieve the ultimate in archeological achievement, the discovery of the Arc of the Covenant; to sponsor other expeditions and activities in conformity with the Society's goals; to publish, propagate and proliferate; to unlock the secrets of ancient history through a better understanding of archeology and its impact on the culture, movements and directions of ancient peoples and times.
