After 5,000 years Australia�s Amazing Hieroglyphs still struggle for recognition ! Because this site is NON-ABORIGINAL - the Aussie Government still fails to protect it. Leading Australian researcher Paul White brings us this astounding story and translations of the Egyptian hieroglyphs found in New South Wales' Hunter Valley. Denied by some 'experts' to be authentic - the time has come to delete Captian Cook as the discoverer of the Great South Land.
The hieroglyphs tell the tale of early Egyptian explorers, injured and stranded, in ancient Australia.
The discovery centres around a most unusual set of rock carvings found in the National Park forest of the Hunter Valley, 100 km north of Sydney. The enigmatic carvings have been part of the local folklore of the area for nearly a century with reports of people who sighted them as far back as the early 1900�s. The site was secretly visited by families "in the know" in the 1950�s and fell back into local mythology for a couple of decades until it was accidentally rediscovered by a man looking for his lost dog in the early 80's. At that time it was reportably studied by a team, who packed up after six months convinced the site was an elaborate fraud...they destroyed their notes and still refuse any knowledge of it. ��The carvings are in a rock cleft, a large block of split sandstone on a cliff-face that has created a small chasm or "chamber" of two flat stone walls facing each other that widens out from two to four metres and is covered in by a huge flat rock as a "roof" at the narrow end�.
The cleft is most cave-like and only accessible by a small rock chute from above or below, well disguised from the average bush-walker. When you first come up the rock chute and climb into the stone hallway you are immediately confronted by a number of worn carvings that are obviously ancient Egyptian symbols. These are certainly not your average Aboriginal animal carvings, but something clearly alien in the Australian bush setting. �. There are at least 250 hieroglyphs. At the end of the chamber, protected by the remaining section of stone roof, is a remarkable third-life sized carving of the ancient Egyptian god "Anubis", the Judge of the Dead ! The hieroglyphs were extremely ancient, in the archaic style of the early dynasties. This archaic style is very little known and untranslatable by most Egyptologists who are all trained to read Middle Egyptian upward. The classic Egyptian dictionaries only handle Middle Egyptian, and there are few people in the world who can read and translate the early formative style. Because the old style contains early forms of glyphs that correlate with archaic Phoenician and Sumerian sources one can see how the university researchers who saw them could so easily have thought them to be bizarre and ill-conceived forgeries.The ageing Egyptologist Ray Johnson, who had translated extremely ancient texts for the Museum of Antiquities in Cairo eventually was successful in documenting and translating the two facing walls of Egyptian characters. � which stemmed from the Third Dynasty.
Tragic Saga
The rock walls chronicle a tragic saga of ancient explorers shipwrecked in a strange and hostile land, and the untimely death of their royal leader, "Lord Djes-eb". A group of three cartouches (framed clusters of glyphs) record the name of "RA-JEDEF" as reigning King of the Upper and Lower Nile, and son of "KHUFU" who, in turn, is son of the King "SNEFERU". This dates the expedition just after the reign of King Khufu (known in the Greek as "Cheops" reputed builder of the Great Pyramid) somewhere between 1779 and 2748 BC. Lord Djes-eb may have actually been one of the sons of the Pharaoh Ra Djedef, who reigned after Khufu.The hieroglyphic text was apparently written under the instruction of a ship�s captain or similar, with the corner glyph on the wall displaying the title of a high official or chief priest. The scribe is "speaking for his Highness, the Prince, from this wretched place where we were carried by ship." The expedition�s leader, as mentioned before is described in the inscriptions as the King�s son, "Lord Djes-eb", who came to grief a long way from home. The hieroglyphics sketch his journey and his tragic demise:"For two seasons he made his way westward, weary, but strong to the end. Always praying, joyful, and smiting insects. He, the servant of God, said God brought the insects�Have gone around hills and deserts, in wind and rain, with no lakes at hand� He was killed while carrying the Golden Falcon Standard up front in a foreign land, crossing mountains, desert and water along the way. "��."He, who died before, is here laid to rest. May he have life everlasting. He is never again to stand beside the waters of the Sacred Mer."�MER meaning "love". There was a moat around the pyramid called the "waters of Mer" .The second facing wall, which was much more seriously eroded, details the tragedy further. This wall begins with the badly eroded glyph of a snake (Heft), with a glyph of jaws (to bite) and the symbol for "twice"��"The snake bit twice. Those followers of the diving Lord "KHUFU", mighty one of Lower Egypt, Lord of the Two Adzes, not all shall return. We must go forward and not look back. All the creek and river beds are dry. Our boat is damaged and tied up with rope. Death was caused by snake. We gave egg-yolk from the medicine-chest and prayed to AMEN, the Hidden One, for he was struck twice." Burial rituals, prayers and preparations are described� "We walled in the side entrance to the chamber with stones from all around. We aligned the chamber with the Western Heavens." �.The three doors of eternity were connected to the rear end of the royal tomb and sealed in. We placed beside it a vessel, the holy offering, should he awaken from the tomb.
Separated from home is the Royal body and all others. "�. The extraordinary 5,000 year-old story of the death and burial of "Lord Djes-eb" one of the sons of the Pharaoh Ra Djedef.
� Visual observation of the site makes it obvious that the very worn carvings exposed to the coastal weather would have to be several centuries to a thousand years old at least�. When first found the site was completely overgrown with thick vegetation and filled in with smashed rock and a much higher soil line. A number of excavation attempts by interested parties have not turned up any artefacts or bodies but sophisticated and expensive laser scanning techniques have not been applied... There is
significant evidence that the ancients were well aware of the Great South land. There were both Sumerian and Mayan traditions of a "lost motherland" in the Pacific. Australia appears under the name of "Antoecie" on the famous spherical world map of Crates of Mallos, even appearing on the Greek map of Eratosthenese in 239 BC� It seems fairly certain that the maritime civilisations of antiquity were quite capable of extensive ocean voyages. Particularly the early Egyptians, as evidenced by Giza�s remarkable "Tomb of the Boat". In the 1950�s, a streamlined 4,500 year old hundred foot, ocean going vessel was excavated from right next to the Great Pyramid. In 1991 an entire fleet of even older boats was found buried in the desert at Abydos in Upper Egypt. According to Cairo Times, in 1982, archaeologists working at Fayum, near the Siwa Oasis uncovered fossils of kangaroos and other Australian marsupials. And there�s also the strange set of golden boomerangs discovered by Prof. Carter in the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922. ��...the double mystery beyond the Gosford Hoax.
Rising to become an enigma in the nu-age psyche, the Egyptian hieroglyphs at Gosford, attracted more interest than many local discoveries of recent times. Described in Graham Walsh's book, AUSTRALIA'S GREATEST ROCK ART, as the cleverest rock art hoax ever perpetrated in Australia, sadly, it seems to be so.
Background intelligence, indicates it was installed by a group of Sydney university archaeology students, who camped on site across six months of 1983. An exact copy of the hieroglyphic message turns up in a Sydney Uni. library book, depicting samples of ancient Egyptian walls and stellae.
Tests confirm this. The carvings vary significantly in size and style they were made by several different people. There are alarming spelling mistakes, which no educated Egyptian would ever permit.
There is also the small mystery of why Anubis holds a cross, instead of the traditional "ankh" and why, the King�s name cartouche�s are mirror-reversed, an error previously unheard of and, probably, punishable by death. The sort of mistake that might result from blindly copying cartouches from an ancient temple rubbing, where they are, naturally, reversed.
Not containing any carbon, the sandstone rock face is virtually undateable. Minute metal tool fragments were detected within some of the etchings but, were also impossible to date. The growth rate of a species of thick moss, which originally covered the carvings, was merely year to year. No artifacts or organic material of any kind, were turned up by the numerous investigators.
Relating a tale about the accidental death of a wandering Egyptian Prince, the ancient writing style, initself and the name of the ruling pharaoh, are the sole dating "clues". Comparison with sandstone memorial blocks in cemeteries, show far more serious erosion in a century than the, supposedly, 5,000 year old glyphs. Excepting a few exposed to the ocean wind, it would appear, the carvings are as fresh and recently carved as they look to the naked eye.
Nevertheless, a couple of years of detailed investigation, which involved networking scientists and other specialists, did turn up some startling anomalies, sufficient to sustain our interest a while longer.
Gosford coincides with one of the NSW grid vectors, located at the mouth of the Hawksbury River, where other anomalous artifacts and strange carvings have been reported. Conventional Aboriginal etchings of totem animals are common in the local forest, some occuring not far from the site. Unfortunatly, not a single member of the former inhabitants survived to tell the story.
As all avid translators soon discovered, the cryptic hieroglyphs refer to a "burial chamber". Despite our residual suspicion of the unusually well-preserved carvings, we did, indeed, stumble upon an inexplicable, secret tunnel.
Cut through the solid bedrock beneath the site, we found a square nine metre chamber, complete with stone pillar supports and room for a person to crawl. It opened into a small space, about a metre behind the large Anubis carving in the outer hallway.
This is the very "mystery tunnel", referred to by David Fitzgerald, the local site guardian who originally showed us the glyphs. He was associated with researchers, who had discretely explored it and awaited test results. Michelle Westerman, the clever and resourceful geologist I conscripted into the project, accidented upon the very chamber they made veiled references to.
In an amusing aside, a few nu-age magazines wrote wild articles and irresponsibly published directions to the site. Combined with the area's easy accessability, hoards of rabid nu-agers descended on the place. Everyone exposed untold rolls of film and rushed off to become heros to their friends.
We found the underground chamber because some exotic visitor dropped their crystal ball, which rolled down the cliffs into a hollow. One day, Michelle spotted it reflecting sunlight amongst the dirt. When she knelt down to reach for it... there was the opening.
The tunnel is quite bizarre. Someone apparently took advantage of a natural crevice, using it to fashon the long tube-like chamber beneath the rock face. We simply couldn't imagine any uni-students going to that much trouble but, you never know. We took samples and used hi-tech metal detectors. No one uncovered any samples or artifacts of any kind. The bottom line is... THE MUMMY IS MISSING!
Given, genuine Aboriginal carvings nearby, we even wondered if it could be an initiation cave, so much were we taken by the inexplicable tunnel's mystique. There is certainly significant evidence of Aboriginal activity.
From the first visit, I was deeply perplexed by numerous deeply carved circles, spread randomly around the surrounding cliff face. I could make little sense of them except, it was clearly marked as some sort of special site. Indeed, it would seem the Gosford debacle has desecrated a significant Aboriginal sacred site.
The unstoppable Michelle grew curious and turned her detective-like skills on the mystery circles. She carefully combed the area, measuring and mapping them onto graph paper. We were astonished to find there were not only many dozens of the circles but, they formed a pattern of some kind.
Of course, there was a initail phase of "join-the-dots", including comparisons with local topography. Finally, Robert Bauval's discovery, that the Giza pyramids were a giant star map, gave us the wild idea to try a star comparison.
Michelle found a match with the astro-cartography sofware on Sydney University's computer. The star charts reveal an unbelievable match with the star pattern above Gosford around the year 2500 BC. The whole thing is a gaint star map. It's not visiting Egyptians we should be amazed by but, the locals.
Nomatic people always have an eye on the sky. Many interesting examples of Aboriginal star charts appear throughout Australia. Some cave paintings, displaying multiple arrays of animals, are actually star charts signalling certain times of the year, for both hunting and ceremony. As we refer to the "Bull" or "The Scorpion" so, too, do Aboriginal tribes refer to the constellation of the "Eagle" the "Wombat" of the "Seven Sisters".
Similarly, astronomers like Gordon Patterson in Tasmania, have proved many colourful creation tales, describing the exploits of brothers, sisters and various animal characters, are actually precise descriptions of ancient celestial events which affected their lives.
Of course, one might ask, what happened on the Gosford coast around 2,500 BC? In a strange twist of fate, this is close to the 2,779 BC date of the "Egyptian" hieroglyphs, as derived from the pharaoh's cartouch. More than meets the eye, a double mystery lurks beyond this cleverly wrought hoax.

A lot of folks these days have heard of the "Earth Grid". The earth grid is the earth�s electromagnetic field that envelopes our planet with a geometric pattern of magnetic lines of force.
This invisible web of energy crisscrosses the terrestrial landscape much like the human acupuncture meridians define the body�s energy field in an intricate, though rationally precise matrix. The major energy pathways are called "ley lines" in Britain, "dragon paths" in China, and "song lines" in our own country. Where the ley lines intersect, an energy eddy or vortex occurs, which are the "earth chakras" or power places on the earth�s surface.
These power places are like electrical switch points or energy transducers spread around the planet in the precise geometry of an icosadecahedron. Many ancient structures from pyramids to stone circles, all tuned to particular electromagnetic frequencies like a crystal radio, can be found worldwide on these power places.
In fact, the earth grid was originally discovered by three Russian scientists in the 1960s who had the idea of examining the globe to see if any pattern should emerge linking significant places in history. The precise geometry they found in the shape of a dodecahedron, linking key sites worldwide, caused author John Mitchell to note: "A great scientific instrument lies sprawled over the entire surface of the globe. The vast scale of prehistoric engineering is not yet generally recognised."
The scientific sophistication of pyramids and other tuning devices carefully positioned around the world certainly gives rise to speculations about the existence of an ancient worldwide culture that harnessed earth and stellat energies in a variety of spectacular ways.
Modern grid researchers like mathematician Captain Bruce Cathie (Ret.) in New Zealand are convinced that some kind of ancient high technology utilised the frequency transmission capabilities of the earth�s oscillating electromagnetic grid. As research progresses it is beginning to emerge that these tuned ancient structures were like antennae of radio towers that could be energised as sonic receptor sites according to a graduated dial of master transmissions.
These transceiver sites and structures were somehow calibrated in terms of a master electromagnetic spectrum geared to consciousness and life-support needs of humans and biosphere. Each site was an interactive energy switch point, an energy vortex, that could both receive and transmit resonant frequencies through the local web system.
The early 20th century genius researchers Guglielmo Marconi and Nikola Tesla were forced underground after remarkable public demonstrations of how to tap �free energy� from the oscillating earth field. No electricity meter of fossil fuel! The vested interests of the day were horrified and acted quickly to stifle this knowledge of the earth grid.
A wealth of new archaeological evidence that has emerged in recent decades revealing high civilisation in the ancient past has pushed our history back to about 100 000 BC. It appears certain from myth and the geological record that dramatic disasters and earth changes have occurred in bygone days. Our present civilisation may exist in a window of time between great cycles of change. We may be rediscovering much that was lost.
The aboriginal elders of NSW North Coast Bundjalung tribe relate the extraordinary tale of the coming seven tribes in ancient days who came from a destroyed homeland in the heavens. These people built a system of pyramids, containing giant crystals, that encircled the world to create a nourishing and protective energy field. Bundjalung elders even refer to a large pyramid hidden in rainforest of northern New South Wales.
The aborigines, not unlike their Hopi Indian counterparts in the USA, say the earth energy field is damaged in some way. Like many indigenous people around the world who preserve the ancient wisdom, they insist that nuclear testing and the high-tech mining of �power places� is somehow short-circuiting the system � that the "hoop of the world has been broken". In fact, the old people say, "The big blow is going to come again!"
The ancient art of geomancy, the high science of how to work the earth system, has been almost lost. The Aboriginal people were amongst the last cultures to follow the song lines and �sing� the power places. Seeing the imminent collapse of the world ecosystem in the modern dreaming, the Aboriginal elders of Australia, and indeed many other indigenous cultures, have declared the time has come to tell the white man the �secret tradition�, of the planet faces serious consequences.
The ancient knowledge that is emerging like a jigsaw puzzle worldwide from archaeological and mythic clues and the traditions of so-called primitive people, is beginning to describe an extraordinary modus operandi for the planet. Ancient peoples and indigenous cultures envision the earth as a living organism of finely tuned natural forces, and teach the simple ethic of reciprocal maintenance.
Clearly, modern civilisation has �broken the balance� which has us scrambling � like and intelligence test � for the clues to tune our local ecosystem correctly. The present disharmony on our world is not irretrievable. All our best mythic traditions assert an interesting evolutionary destiny awaits us if we successfully decode the keys of consciousness and matter.
But why should we bother with all this ancinet history and idealstic grandeur from a remote past? Because many interlocking universal, galactic, solar, planetary and human evolutionary cycles are all synchronously coming to fruition at this end of the 20th century. Certain basic incarnational obligations all humans willingly agreed to long ago as a condition for inhabitiong the earth, have all come due. It�s not a question of the �wrath of the gods� of an �angry Jehovah�. It�s simply a matter of cosmic clockwork.
A major cycle is nearly finished. New things are about to begin. The ancient and revered art of �grid engineering� not only provides a deep insight into the evolutionary cycles but describes how to reprogramme the local electromagnetic spectrum to reactivate the earth grid and restore the earth to the legendary �paradise� that existed before �the fall�.
So, there we have the basic brief. Earth grid research, �ley hunting� as it is called in some circles, has become a modern-day quest for enigmatic clues of ancient culture and science on this worldwide grid pattern. Australia is much less explored but certainly not exempt in this regard.
As part of a film brief for a group of Aboriginal elders called �missing links�, we have been talking to grid reserchers and tracking the grid system, following the major �song lines� around the country to visit key power places and talk to tribal elders and clever people who retain the ancient knowledge.
We are looking at a number of key areas around Australia in this curious mythic quest for archaeological clues and indigenous traditions that might decode the mystery of the earth grid. Of the major power places of energy vortexes that encircle the earth like the famous Bermuda Triangle, Mt Shasta in Calafornia, or the Giza pyramid in Egypt, Australia has one major vortex at grid point 44 on the local grid map. Another occurs at sea in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
We organised a camera team trek to the central harmonic grid point in the hearth of South Australia�s Flinders Ranges, a logical place to start looking for mythic and archaeological correlates.
In the grid point area there is an extraordinary crater-like formation rising from the surrounding desert called Wilpena Pound, the home of the unusual Aboriginal tribe called the Adnamatna � which is and old Hebrew eoed meaning "God�s gift�. Consistant with parallel legends and traditions at the power places world wide, the Adnamatna record the tradition of the �Bwanapul� who come from the sky to teach their people and rescue them in times of disaster.
There is the recurring tradition of ancient and indigenous peoples around the globe who describe communication with �gods� and the comings and goings of �angels� or �higher light beings� at these power places. The Jews were not the only tribe that had strange things happening on the mountain top and bushes bursting into flame.
In the grid zone surrounding Wilpena Pound we began tracking Aboriginal myths and legends around the area using Dorothy Thunbridge�s book, Flinders Ranges Dreaming, which she compiled after spending several years with the Adnamatna old people. Their story of creation and initation led us to Arkaroo Rock where we encountered some of the Adnamatna who took us to their sacred cave full of rainbow-coloured paintings and told us the creation story firsthand.
For thousands of years Wilpena Pound was famous for its couloured ochre. Other tribes came great distances to trade whatever they had for the richly coloured ochre. Living on the major power place in the country gave the Adnamatna, as caretakers, the strongest magic in the land. Even the powerful Pitjantjatjara didn�t mess with these guys. The Adnamatna were a very spiritual tribe, with total equality of the sexes, extremely strict initiation laws, and an unusually high number of �Wirrupul men� or wizards. These wizards were notorious for casting lightnig bolts at anyone who approached with evil intent.
We explained our brief to collect and legitimise the ancient knowledge and our suspicion that these grid points were sonic transceiver sties. The elders told us they still �sang� the sites up until 1944 when the old people became ill with diabetes and other problems from eating white food. We were told that since the singing stopped, the eagle (principle totem for the area) no longer talked to their people, and only on old man retained the art of the �summoning of the Bwanapul" � the higher light beings who manifest through the vortex to come and teach their people.
They drew a map for us to the power place and sacred site where the ancient ritual of summoning used to be enacted thousands of years before: Chambers Gorge, the site of the creation myth in the book of legends. We trekked into the ancient river valley, in considerable heat I might add, to locate a small culvert with a natural spring that was off to one side of the gorge. The river, really a small creek in the dry, was salt-water having been polluted by the artesian water table.
After a bit of serious trekking, with a dedicated grasp on our camera gear, we finally crossed a ridge that brought us face to face with two cliff wall facing each other, absolutely covered in ancient writing. The excitement we felt was like something out of those �Lost Ark� movies! This was ancient writing � of the stylised, glyphic sort. Deeply etched, ancient rock carvings, some of them strangely familiar, and yet not an Aboriginal motif amongst them. It was all a bit strange, nothing like the lurid Aboriginal cave paintings we had seen the previous day. Many of the highly stylised glyphs were remarkably similar to other ancient languages we had seen.
There were even figures with long pointed hats and falcon heads encircled by cartouches, along with a bird�s tail standing in a stylised boat similar to early Egyptian or Phonician craft. Light-box tracings from infrared photographs reveal the clarity and precision of the various �written entries� on the cliff-face. It�s quite possible that some of the hieroglyphs were carved by different visiting ancient cultures on pilgramages to this power place.
Comparisons can be found with the writing of other ancient peoples ranging form early Sanskrit to Easter Island and early Chinese. The archaeologist who gazetted this site for National Parks and Wildlife says the carbon dating of the carvings (interior of the carving, as opposed to the weathered surface) indicates that they are from a period 40-60,000 years ago, older than the Cave of the Bulls in Altamira, Spain, previously thought of as the world�s oldest rock art. Some of these glyphs represent very old writing indeed. Perhaps, even, from a previous culture in an earlier time cycle.
This could be the formative origins of the ancient harmonic languages that include Egyptian, Tibetan, Hebrew and Sanskrit. It may be evidence for some sort of �mother tongue� that belonged to the survivors of a one-time world culture. The similarities between the previously mentioned ancient languages have lone been noted.
Interesting to remark that such observations have not surfaced in contemporary academic circles. The archaeologist responsible for the site is, who works for the National Parks and Wildlife service, is not familiar with other cultures. He says he is a specialist of some twenty years� standing in Aboriginal primitive rock art, and that these carvings are nothing more than unusual primitive etchings. He becomes hostile if you even refer to the carvings as �writing�. He even said that he had a colleague he went to university with who came out to the site and insisted the carvings were Atlantean writing. He angrily refuses to entertain any such "fringe balderdash"!
Another quite incredible site we sought permission from the Adnamatna elders to visit was Red Gorge, which archaeologists of the 1930s claimed to contain more rock carvings than anywhere else ion Australia. Sited on private land behind a remote sheep station, we had to gain permission from both the white and black custodians to gain entry.
Red Gorge was a dry river bed with twin cliff-faces of blood-red stone that had weathered in huge blocks, creating giant steps and slopes of scree that enabled one to scramble to the top. Here was an unexpected concentration of carvings of all sorts, ranging from a variety of extinct and prehistoric animals to the enigmatic carvings of strange, goggle-eyed beings in large circular and pyramidal cartouches (closed line around).
We found a large stylised �eye�, not unlike the egyptian eye of Horus and many other unusual glyphs and motifs, some of them even appearing to show stars and planetary motions. There was also a high incidence of carved footprints, in some cases running right up the cliff-face. There were a number of normal human footprints etched in the rocks, but were also a number of minature human prints with six toes and a number of larger-than-human prints with four toes. Curious indeed. There remains much to be deciphered and studied.
The archaeological reports from the 1930s make it clear that the Aboriginal people of the time had no knowledge of the carvings, and insisted they were made long before their people came. In fact, the Adnamatna elders said the carvings were made in creation times by the mythical �serpent men� who were called Iti (pron. E.T.) in the Adnamatna language. They described the symbol we had seen everywhere at both places, the circle within a circle with a straight line through it, as the �signature� of the creation beings who came to the power places when the Earth was young. The same symbol is found at Mt Shasta and other key grid vortexes around the world.
We will be taking our camera team to other key power places around the country that radiate out from the central grid point, looking for archaeological anomalies and talking to elders and �clever people�. We will be searching for clues amongst the ancient knowledge that reveal the workings of the prehistoric energy system.

The Mystery
Of Burrows Cave
In the past decade some strange and unexpected discoveries have been made around the world. Some of the more inexplicable finds, especially if they challenge the dominant paradigm, have yet to see the full light of day. The Burrows Cave saga is one of these. It is the story of a very unusual find, an archeological �time-capsule� of rock crypts containing mummified bodies, life size statues and over three thousand carved stones of mixed cultural origin.
The artifacts date to an early AD time period and seem to predominately relate to ancient Egypt. Similar to anomalous discoveries elsewhere, the find has been seriously challenged by the academic community, with cries of �hoax� and �fraud�. Yet, despite the claims of �impossible�, translations from the cache are beginning to unravel a hidden side of history.
The bizarre collection was found in a remote cave system in the American State of Illinois. The cavers who made the discovery encountered a derisive response from the first academic experts they approached, experiencing a lot of difficulty finding necessary specialists to help them document and identify the artifacts. There were problems of site security, disappearing artifacts, as well as people bending data to suit their personal agendas. As the site researcher Fred Rydholm remarks: �For this kind of research you have to be thick-skinned, brave or crazy!� It�s one thing finding these things, its quite another to explain them.
In the United States the saga of �Burrows Cave� has been going on for well over a decade. Over three thousand rock fragments, engraved with a variety of ancient drawings, hieroglyphs and script, were presented to the world by Russell Burrows in 1982, who discovered them in a cave system in Southern Illinois. The story of the cave and its contents is so strange, that it�s little wonder it has met strong skepticism. Recently deciphered for the first time, the stone tablets tell such a wild tale that it will require quite a turn around to accepted history.
I was stunned into disbelief when I first laid eyes on the Burrows Cave evidence. This is no straight forward set of hieroglyphs but, an inexplicable display of several cultures, a huge library preserved on stone tablets, collected together and sealed in a cave sometime around the first millennium.
The first photographs of the artifacts were forwarded to me by Filip Coppens, who writes about world mysteries in Belgium. He had heard about my investigation of the anomalies surrounding the presumed hoax of Egyptian hieroglyphs in the NSW Hunter Valley. He was struck by certain odd similarities between the two finds and sent pictures of the carvings which depicted a wolf-headed god, similar to an �Anubis� carving photographed in the Hunter Valley.
Certainly, the Burrows Cave boasts a few forms of wolf and jackal-headed deities, from the classical Anubis to half human versions. One of the Burrows Cave examples is executed in bas-relief, with accompanying hieroglyphs, embossed on a gold plate. However, there is much more than wolf-headed deities, the carved tablets display an extraordinary cultural array. There is a hodgepodge mixture of images and cultural influences which make the artifacts very hard to explain. Even worse, some of the carvings seem amateurish or dimly remembered copies of ancient Greek and Mesopotamian sources. Whereas, others involve a high level of skill and obvious knowledge of ancient cosmology.
One of the images depicts a �wolfish� deity in priestly regalia, wearing a bishop-style hat decorated with a solar emblem. The deity has been identified as the god �So-Bek-Ra�, who is so pictured on a temple by the Nile. The figure stands, as the lone representative of an ancient priesthood, against an advancing enemy army. There are also many carved heads, mostly warrior profiles, wearing both Greek, Roman and Egyptian headgear. Curiously, there are even images of ancient Amer-Indians wearing feathers and facial designs, some showing clear Meso-American style head-dress. Records of ancient travellers?
Amongst them are many ancient mystical and sacred designs, as well as maps, pictures of ships and non-indigenous animals. Astonishingly, one of the carvings portrays the cloven-hooved god Pan, holding his pipes and consorting with a nymph. Another stone (as well as an ancient metal coin) excavated from the cave carry the bold image of an elephant underlined with Hebrew characters. Oddly, an artifact inscribed in exactly the same way was found on a pyramid-shaped stone in Ecuador some years earlier.
Some of the carvings are meticulously executed in full bas-relief, some completely carved into the shapes of animals and deities, while other tablets were etched to render the designs. Even a small collection of solid gold artifacts and coins have been excavated. More than just pictures, there are numerous tablets with coherent linear script carved on them. Examples and influences appear to range from Hebrew and Sumerian to Roman, Greek and Egyptian.
In my correspondence with Fred Rydholm, the best theory I could offer, was to speculate about a colony of resourceful pirates, who in some distant time, raided and collected the strange quasi-cultural cache of artifacts for themselves. Together with an associate Dr James Scherz, who helped in the study and documentation of the artifacts, Fred Rydholm found correlations between symbols on the Burrows Cave coins and coins produced by dynasties along the �Silk Road� between China and Rome, the most predominant being �Kushana� and �Satavahana�symbols.
( NOTE: The Kushanas once controlled a trade dynasty along the Silk Roads, uniting various ancient people�s in the days of the Romans. They disintegrated with the collapse of the Western part of the Roman Empire about AD 300. The Satavahana�s were a seafaring people who lived on the coast of the Indian Ocean and had large ships represented on their coins before they collapsed around 210-230 AD. This suggests the likely time period of early in the first millennium around or after 200 AD. )
Finally, Fred Rydholm was able to report a significant breakthrough with two young Florida researchers, Paul Schaffranke and Brian Hubbard, who were successful in deciphering some of the inscriptions. Schaffranke and Hubbard recognised them as being one of several ancient Etruscan alphabets which could be translated into �street Latin�, as used around the time of Christ. The two Florida men were able to translate stone tablets from the Burrows Cave that the great epigrapher, Dr. Barry Fell and others, had insisted were gibberish and could not be translated.
Mixed in amongst the Etruscan script there is also the added mystery of Hebrew and Egyptian stone tablets. These were also recently identified and are being translated by Dr. Arnold Murray of Arkansas and, Zena Halpern, a Hebrew scholar from New York. The Egyptian material is still being assessed. Over half a dozen professional archeologists and linguists have now examined the collection and have been definite in their support of the artifacts� authenticity. At last contact, the Burrow�s team had dug out and classified an astonishing four thousand stone tablets. Another breakthrough came, when a retired engineer Bill Kreisle, found several of the stones recorded accurate maps of the Mississippi River system as it appeared 2000 years ago. Another map stone shows a river on the Iberian Peninsula (Spain) with the ancient city of Cadiz near its mouth.
But, most astonishing of all, they have reported the discovery of several stone crypts, excavated from limestone deep in the cave system, containing a number of interred skeletons with jewellery, artifacts and statuary. The mystery people who left the cache of records are, apparently, themselves, buried there. The biggest continuing mystery of the discovery is, WHO carved all these message tablets and from whence came this hidden dynasty of bodies?
Fred Rydholm, who works with and writes, for the retiring Col. Burrows, reports in his recent correspondence : �Although I speak with caution, as it is still too early to say for sure, there are many indications that the bodies found in the crypts are the leaders of a colony of refugees from Ptolemaic Egypt, including a Jewish contingent from the Roman controlled Kingdom of Mauritania.
Dr Joseph Mahan, founder and longtime president of the Institute for the Study of American Cultures (ISAC), has examined the evidence from the new translations and presents this interesting scenario: �They were secretly sent to America in ships provided by the Mauritanian King Juba the Second and his wife Cleopatra Selene, daughter of Cleopatra and Marc Anthony. Included among the refugees were the Queen�s two brothers, who disappeared from Rome (and recorded history) in 17 AD, Ptolemy Philadelphus and Alexander Helios.� The graves of these people have been the object of a comprehensive historical search for the past two thousand years.
We appear to have an advanced and well funded group of priest/scholars who, with the ex-Royal families, escaped the Roman Christianisation of Egypt and set off into the unknown somewhere around 200-300 AD. The engraved maps and their collected storehouse of knowledge, shows a deliberate transplanting of culture, perhaps to escape the religious persecution of the Roman Invasion of Egypt and establish a remote colony which could preserve the ancient records. Indeed, Dr Joseph Mahan, an archeological anthropologist who made a close study of the cave artifacts, reveals a detailed cosmology and religious lore from the cave material which is remarkably similar to that which survived amongst the Indian tribes of the area.
The area of Southern Illinois and Indiana, where Russell Burrows stumbled into the limestone cave system, is richly endowed with the scattered evidence of several different early cultures which archeologists know too little about. There are log tombs, skeletons and artifacts from the Adena culture, which is believed to have developed around 500 BC and to have died out by 200 AD. There was the Hopewell culture, 100 BC to 350 AD. A mysterious culture concentrated along the Mississippi, known as the �Mississippian�, crystalised around 800 AD, and was thought to still be in existence when the Spaniards arrived.
Researcher, Joseph Mahan, points out, that archeologists have
collected evidence for fifty years of an elaborate and uniform Earth/Sun
religion, associated with the building of flat top
temple mounds, which spread out from the Mississippi in the later part of the
first millennium. These pyramid-like mounds, which carried a permanent fire at
the top, contained a variety of art, impressed on copper and stone, depicting
animal-headed deities, crosses, swastikas, and people in ceremonial dress
performing rituals. Examples of these mound sites are spread from Oklahoma, to
Illinois, Alabama and Georgia.
The first archeologists to recognise the spread of this mound building style called it the �Southern Cult�. Mahan says �Mississippian� is believed to have been introduced by a priestly organisation, the members of which re-introduced the cultivation of maize to the area. There is indisputable evidence, in the written and spoken form, of the former tribal languages of the area that a North African tongue, similar to Libyan, was desseminated by this �Southern Cult�.
Could the Burrows Cave, indeed, be the lost library and resting place of the founders of this mysterious culture? Founders, the inscribed tablets puport to be, the ex-Egyptian Royal family escaping the sacking of ancient Egypt early in the first millennium.

Since the declassification of the new ground-penetrating radar 2
years ago, the most staggering data has emerged of complex and labyrinthine
underground systems in various parts of the world. At places like
Guatemala in the South Americas, tunnels have been mapped under the Mayan
pyramid complex at Tikal, which extend a full 800 kilometers to the
opposite side
of the country.
Investigators remarked, it was possible to understand how half a
million Mayan Indians escaped the decimation of their culture. In similar
fashion, the SIRA radar was deployed in Egypt as early as 1978, mapping an
extraordinary subterranean complex beneath the Egyptian pyramids.
Arrangements made with President Sadat of Egypt, resulted in three decades
of top secret excavations to penetrate the system.
At a recent meeting in Australia, one of the key scientists on
the Giza project, Dr. Jim Hurtak, showed film footage of work in progress
called, CHAMBERS OF THE DEEP, due to be released at the end of the century.
The film reveals the discovery of a vast megalithic metropolis, 15,000
years old, reaching several levels below the Giza plateau.
While the rest of the Nu-Age speculates about a hidden chamber
under the left paw of the Sphinx, the legendary "City Of The Gods", lays
sprawled
beneath. Complete with hydraulic underground waterways, the film shows
massive chambers, the proportions of our largest cathedrals, with enormous
statues, the size of the Valley of the Nile, carved in-situ. Researchers,
risking their lives with lights and cameras, carefully negotiated rubber
dinghies across subterranean rivers and kilometer-wide lakes, to penetrate
sealed chambers beyond.
Already, remarkable caches of records and artifacts have been
found. *Just after the Deluge, at the dawn of the present time cycle, an
era the Egyptians called ZEP TEPI, "The First Times", a mysterious group of
"gods" appeared, to initiate the survivors in the rudiments of
civilization.
From Thoth and Osiris in Egypt, to Quetzacoatal and Viracocha
in the Americas, traditions worldwide subscribe the origins of contemporary
civilization to this sophisticated group*.
Despite the misleading popularity of Von Danikan journalism,
evidence from around the world, indicates these people were the hi-tech
survivors of the previous civilization. Like the nuclear survival bunkers
and secret research facilities of our own civilization, there were those
who arose from the underground "cities of the Gods", after the dust settled.
They were the "prediluvian patriarchs", like Enoch and Methuselah, the
"giants
and heroes of old", mentioned in Genesis.
The enigmatic gods of ancient Summer, Egypt and India, all hail
from the fabulous times before the Flood. It is the legacy of a
civilization and a technology way beyond our own. A technology capable of
creating a vast
underground city, of which the sphinx and pyramids are merely the surface
markers.
The project scientist, Dr. Hurtak, likens it to the impact
of contact with an advanced extraterrestrial culture. He described it as the
discovery of the Fourth Root culture, the so-called Atlantean civilization,
destroyed by the last earth tumble. It presents unequivocal evidence that
all languages, cultures and religions trace back to a single common source,
which Dr. Hurtak refers to as the "Parent Civilization".
The technology unearthed is way beyond machine technology,
as we know it. As Arthur C. Clark once joked, "any technology beyond our own
would seem like magic to us." According to Dr. Hurtak, this was a culture
who cracked the genetic code and possessed the keys of the physical
spectrum, the "Higher Light Physics" of the ancients... everything old
Gilgamesh in
his famous trek to the lost "City of the Gods" to search the tunnels
beneath "Mt. Mashu" in the desert lands.
Hurtak refers to a "language of light" and a great
priest-scientist of the previous time cycle, named ENOCH, who is associated
with the building of the Great Pyramid complex. Hurtak alludes to a grand
spiritual science, a science that describes a genetic stairway to the stars.
The priest-scientist ENOCH, is a prediluvian patriarch, one of the most
famous and seminal characters of the previous time cycle. Father of
Methuselah and great grandfather of Noah, Enoch is credited in the Bible as
architect of the original Zion, the legendary "City of Yahweh", as well as
inventor of the alphabet and calendar. Enoch is also history's first
astronaut, who "is taken aloft by the Lord" and shown "the secrets of earth
and heaven". He returns to earth with the "weights and measures" for all
mankind.
Known to the Egyptians as THOTH, the "Lord of Magic and
Time" and to the Greeks as HERMES, "messenger of the gods", he is even
remembered
in the Celtic tradition as the enigmatic wizard Merlin, who disappears up
an apple tree to mythic Avalon, seeking the secret of immortality and vowing
to return. As one who attained immortality, the secret of how we "might
become
as gods", Thoth/Enoch promises to return at the end of time "with the Keys
to
the gates of the sacred land."
In the controversial Dead Sea Scrolls, revealing the lost
Books
Of Enoch removed from the Bible by Enoch describes a wondrous civilization
in the past, who misused the keys of higher knowledge and were unable to
save
themselves from the last cataclysm. Both literally and figuratively they
lost the "keys", they lost all higher knowledge. Yet, Enoch, along with many
traditions, even the Mayan legend of Quetzacoatal, promises a return of
this knowledge at "The end of time", the end of the present time cycle.
Biblical
Revelations promise "all will be revealed" at the end of the present world.
The extraordinary discoveries in Egypt and other parts of
the world, describe not just an advanced technology but, evolutionary path
beyond our present state. Careful scientific examination of the world's key
pyramid sites, reveal them to be sophisticated harmonic structures, not only
mirroring positions of the planets and stellar systems but also, designed
to mimic the chakras and harmonic cavities of the human body. Even each
stone
within the Great Pyramid is harmonically tuned to a specific frequency or
musical tone. The sarcophagus in the center of the Great Pyramid is tuned
to the frequency of the human heart beat.
Astonishing experiments, conducted by Dr. Hurtak
and colleagues
at the Great Pyramid and other sites in the South Americas, demonstrate the
Pyramids to be voice-activated "geophysical computers." Intoning specific
ancient sounds, the scientific team produced visible standing waves of
light,
above and within the pyramids and was even able to penetrate, hitherto,
inaccessible chambers. Subsequent discoveries indicate the ancient
priest-scientists employed some sort of harmonic sound technology within the
temple structures.
The lost Enochian knowledge reveals the mother tongue as a
"language of Light". Known to the ancients as HIBURU, it is the primal seed
language, introduced at the beginning of this time cycle. Modern research
confirms, the most ancient form Hebrew to be a natural language, the
alphabetic forms emerging from the phosphene(phosphate?) flare patterns of
the brain. The same shapes, in fact, born of a spinning vortex. It is a
true language of light, coursing through our very nervous system.
Encoding the natural waveform geometry of the physical world,
Hiburu is a harmonic language, mimicking the waveform properties of light.
The "keys" Enoch speaks of, turn out to be sound keys, keys to be vibratory
matrix of reality itself, the mythic "Power of the World". The Enochian
knowledge describes sonic equations, encoded within the ancient mantras and
god names, capable of directly affect the nervous system and producing
profound effect of healing and higher consciousness states.
As the ancient texts declare, "If you would speak with the
gods you must first learn the language of the gods." NA, the ancient
cabalistic "Tree Of Life" portrayed in the Biblical Torah, is now coming to
be viewed as a live vibrating structure, rather than a fixed tape recording.
Many modern scientists, regard DNA as a shimmering, waveform configuration,
able to be modified by light, radiation, magnetic fields or sonic pulses.
The legacy of Thoth/Enoch suggests this "language
of Light",
the harmonic science of the ancients, could actually affect DNA. The
evidence in Egypt, indicates this was the grand 6,000 year genetic experiment
attempted by the Egyptians, the quest for immortality and the stars, a quest
described by the great ones of old, a quest initiated by Gilgamesh so very
long ago. The Egyptians were not fixated on the afterlife, as thought by
early Christian translators but, focussed on creating a higher type of
human. Along with many ancient cultures, they believed DNA came from the
stars and was destined to return.
The knowledge of Thoth/Enoch implies humans are meant to
evolve beyond our present terrestrial form, as the Bible tells us, "we may
become Greater than angels". The Egyptians record stories of the "Star
Walkers", occasional individuals who, like Enoch, traveled "beyond the Great
Eye of Orion" and returned, to walk like gods amongst men. Despite the
bleaching of semi-divine beings from modern consciousness, could it be
possible, as the ancient texts insist, we are destined to "become as gods"?
Are the Mayan "Lords of Light" and the Egyptian/Tibetan "Shining Ones"
really a higher form of human? According to many earth legends, such beings
are supposed to return regularly, at the beginning and end of each time cycle,
the 13,000 year half-point of our solar system's 26,000 year zodiacal orbit
around galaxy center. Because of conditions on our galactic orbit, these
13,000 year intervals or "worlds", seem to be separated by cataclysmic
upheaval.
According to the "calendar in stone" of the Great Pyramid,
which Describes the so-called "Phoenix Cycle" of our galactic orbit, the
present time period ends (converted to our present calendar) in the year 2012
AD. The Greek word PHOENIX, derived from the Egyptian word, PA-HANOK,
actually means, "The House of Enoch". The Enochian knowledge suggests,
these regular cataclysmic changes act as an evolutionary agent provocateur, to
quicken the resident life forms to the next evolutionary phase, prior to
exodus from the womb planet. Human evolution may proceed more rapidly than
previously thought. The evidence now appearing, records civilizations
beforeus, which mastered the physical continuum and progressed beyond this
world.
There were also those who failed.
We, too, have equal opportunity to make it or break it. The
discoveries emerging from Egypt, describe the existence of a world wide
pyramid temple system in prehistory, mounted like antennae on the key energy
meridians, which were employed by ancient priest- scientists as a musical
system to stabilize the tectonic plates of the planet... cataclysmic geology
at it's finest. From the mother tongue word JEDAIAH, meaning "the way of
the Word" or "the power of the Word", the ancient JEDAI (is this where Lucas
got his inspiration for the Jedi knights?) priests used the language of Light
to tune the planet like a giant harmonic bell.
Much is being rediscovered in the last days of this time cycle.
In the words of Dr. Jay Franz, of the Omega Foundation, "even if we don't
dare to name it, there is a universal feeling of something impending on the
world stage."
